Works by Alice Musiol cover a broad spectrum of media: drawings, prints, pieces for the wall, objects, sculptures, installations, image projections – with the exception of photography and painting in the classic sense, you can find almost everything contemporary art has to offer regarding forms of expression. For all of this, it is not so much the medium that is central, but the fundamental attitude that causes the work to come about.
Although Musiol becomes highly involved with situations, with spaces, with a repertory of things at hand – the material, objects, work possibilities, etc. – it is the reference to her own personal identity, her biography, her body experience, her own timescales and the possibilities linked with this that always form the focus of her creative work.
